Umuoji Medical Outreach successfully enrolled 148 citizens of Umuoji in the Anambra State Health Insurance program. Late registration is underway to accommodate patients who missed the deadline. The policy covers consultation fees, laboratory tests, treatments, and medications, with minimal out-of-pocket payment for a period of one year. With the help of UIUN leadership, village chairmen, and alternate points of contact, as agreed by the executing body, patients were identified from all 23 villages of Umuoji; 5 individuals per village.

The executing body was composed of Umuoji citizens resident in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, who are registered and active members of our organization. Mobility aids including 14 wheelchairs, 4 walkers, and 5 pairs of crutches were also presented to 23 handicapped Umuoji citizens from different villages. Many thanks to Umuoji citizens who selflessly planned and executed this outreach, especially those members who travelled to Nigeria at great personal expense, to ensure a successful execution of the program – Dr & Mrs Fidelis and Ifeoma Onyimba (President and First Lady), Dr Chuma Mbonu (General Secretary), Iyom Dr Stella Ujunne Akpuaka (Outreach Coordinator / Lead).
We greatly appreciate the guidance and immense support of the UIUN leadership, well represented by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Hon. Prince Emeka Asoanya (War Machine) and the UIUN Secretary General, Chief Emeka Raymond Egbue (Eze Ani). Our hearts go out to the UIUN President General (PG), Chief Cyril Muoemenam, Ichie Chinechendo, who gave his blessing to our outreach program right from the onset, but was unavoidably absent from the event, due to loss in the family.
Our deepest condolences Mr President. Words cannot fully express our gratitude to all families, friends and well-wishers whose generosity made this dream a reality. The experience and valuable lessons learned will add value to future outreach projects.
